Breakfast Set

In December 2007 I was commissioned by a collecter to make a breakfast set. It was thought as a contempary version of the dejuner set that was produced on the European porcelain factories, primarly in the 17th century.

It was an interesting commission that meant a great deal for the dishes I developed later on. The dishes ar made by throwing the rings for the rims of the dish, then cut them to smaller pieces and putting them back together. It was a different way of working with form than I had done before - and it gave me good experience, both technical and in terms of developing form, for making other work.
