Ceramic Art London
From the 11-14th of April I will be exhibiting at Ceramic Art London at the Royal College of Art. You can find me at stand 2. See more about CAL here
I last showed at CAL in 2009 and I am looking forward to show the developments that has happended with my work since then.
I will be showing three different types of work at this years CAL.
Limfjorden is a group of vases inspired by the fjord where I grew up in Western Jutland, Denmark.
The vases are glazed with different tones of blue runny glaze and have inlaid decoration.
A vase can stand alone or they can be in a group, as a stilleben. With a group of them, you have your own view of the sea.
The vases have different sizes, from mini vases at 5 cm, medium vases and taller ones, up to 30 cm.
(The Dark Armies)
The second group is a collection of dark bottle which are thrown and constructed. They are all quite different in shape, expression and size - each have their own life.
At a fair in Denmark, I asked the audience to add a title for the bottles - which resulted in as different words as anxiety, calmness, glasnost and grandma.
I find it really interesting that we see things so differently and at CAL I give you the opportunity to add your own title for the bottles.
The last group of work is some black dishes. Distortion of the rim after the throwing, gives each dish a unique look. It also make it easier to pass the dish around and leaves a natural resting space for cutlery.
The dishes can be used for salad, fruitbowl or as decoration.
